What has your company done in the past year to remain a top performer in your sector, and top of mind among your customers?
Since the completion of our Travel Network business expansion in Asia-Pacific last year, through the acquisition of Abacus International, we’ve been focused on pairing the advantage of Sabre’s global network of innovators, content and vision with the local approach, knowledge and support needed to meet the nuanced needs of our customers in Asia-Pacific. This, combined with the US$1 billion we invest in product and technology development annually, puts us in the strongest position yet to deliver new solutions that will enhance the traveller experience and drive business advantage, revenues and growth for our customers across this region.
What motivates you and your team to excel in all that you do?
The opportunity to keep evolving the way we travel, and the way travel companies do business, is what keeps driving me every day. At the same time the fundamentals that support a thriving travel industry are no more present anywhere than in Asia. We are in the right place, at the right time – and that makes this business great.
What advice would you give to the next generation of tourism professionals who desire success in this trade?
Be flexible, embrace change and stay attuned to the rapid economic and technological evolution taking place around us, both inside and beyond our industry. Additionally, you are involved in a noble business. Have fun doing it! – Roshan Mendis, senior vice president, Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific.
